Wards Creek Elementary PTO's biggest fundraiser this year will be the Boosterthon Fun Run. No doubt, you've heard a LOT about it from your Warrior - and tomorrow is the big day! Unfortunately, it's going to be FRIGID in the morning, and for the safety of all of our students, we will not be running outside, rather participating in 35 super fun indoor activities instead!! If you're planning to volunteer, you are still needed/welcome/appreciated, so come early to grab a great spot to watch and cheer.
The schedule is as follows:
8:50 AM: ESE, Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grades
10:00 AM: 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades
We will be in the cafe - we hope you can join us for this awesome celebration. All of your hard work has paid off!! We will be able to make some amazing upgrades to WCES all because of your support of the Warriors! THANK YOU!!!
The holiday lunch is back at WCES and we are in need of some awesome parent volunteers to help serve food to our Warriors and their families. Can you spare 30 minutes or an hour? If you’re going to be at school anyway, find out from your child’s teacher what time the class eats - then pick a time slot before or after to give back to your school.

Thank you for your help!
You know about Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday... but do you know about Giving Tuesday!? It's a day, after all that shopping, to stop and give a little back! We are SO appreciative of our Warrior Families and we thought we would share some ways you can give back to your school, should you feel so inclined!
Tickets for the Mother-Son event (Minute to Win it!) are in your child's folders today. So when they get home from school, make sure you ask them to pull them out so you can put them in a safe spot! You should receive admission tickets and tickets for any pizzas that you ordered.
If you have any questions or issues please contact Mrs. Shreves . We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night!!
PS: If you forgot to pre-order your tickets, don't forget you can purchase admission at the door for $10 each mother/son pair and $5 for each additional son. These tickets do not include pizza (No extra pizzas will be available for purchase), but you can still come play and compete to win! Hope to see you then!

The Minute to Win It Mother-Son event is coming up this week! Friday night, Wards Creek will be filled with students and their moms vying for fame and glory (and pizza!). We still need volunteers! Can you help us make this event a success for our school? Volunteers are needed for as little as 30 minutes (set up/breakdown) or 1 hour blocks to help run one of the games. Can you stay all night? AWESOME! Can only come for 30 minutes? AWESOME! We are thankful for all of the help we can get. Adult volunteers must be registered with the school. Please call/see the front desk if you're not sure if you are an approved volunteer/visitor to the school.

Reminder: Any middle or high school student needing volunteer hours are welcome/encouraged! See any of the PTO Board and we will sign whatever documentation that you need.
This past Friday, Wards Creek Elementary held the 1st quarter TORCH party celebration. Oh my goodness did those Warriors DANCE!! It was so much fun seeing them celebrate their hard work and accomplishments and it's safe to say, they had a blast!! PTO was so glad to sponsor the event refreshments (lots of juice and cookies!) and the day would not have been a success without the help of some awesome volunteers! Too many to name (and would not want to leave anyone out!) but THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! You are the P in the PTO and we couldn't do it without you!! And for all of you PTO members following along at home - this is a great example of what your membership dollars help to sponsor throughout the year. So thank you for joining us!! Here are a few of the smiling volunteer faces at the TORCH party....
New at Wards Creek this year - our TORCH cards allow the students to shine! They earn stamps for leadership behavior in the classroom and in return, are being rewarded with some awesome celebrations each quarter.
1st quarter's reward for students who have earned enough TORCH points is a dance party in the courtyard. It is scheduled for November 10, 2017.
We have some awesome volunteers who have agreed to chaperone, but we are missing one thing - A DJ!!! Are you a DJ (either professionally or as a hobby)? Would you be interested in donating your time to come play some great music for our Warriors? If you are interested in learning more or volunteering your time, please contact wcesPTOvolunteer@gmail.com.
It's that time of the year again - everyone's favorite Fall Festival is just around the corner!!! This year's festival will have some old favorites and some new treats too - something for all ages to enjoy!
Friday, October 20, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Wards Creek Elementary School
Our amazing Nurse Lee still needs a few volunteers to help with health screenings next week. No medical experience necessary (it's easy and fun, I promise!) and you will be fully trained! There will be a nurse on site with you all 3 days. Can you spare 3 hours to help out?? The greatest need is Thursday, but we also need 2 more volunteers for Tuesday morning as well! Thank you, Warrior Families!!
