You know about Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday... but do you know about Giving Tuesday!? It's a day, after all that shopping, to stop and give a little back! We are SO appreciative of our Warrior Families and we thought we would share some ways you can give back to your school, should you feel so inclined!
WCES PTO hopes everyone had a great Thanksgiving with family and friends! We know today kicks off the shopping season and many of you are out hunting the best deals for that holiday giving! Two quick reminders:
1) Show some love to our Business Partners!!! They are such great support to the WCES PTO (and your kids!) so we hope you will support them. Learn more by visiting our Business Partners page.
2) If you're shopping on Amazon, set up Amazon Smile so WCES PTO gets a donation from every purchase you make! It's so easy to do and once you do it, you won't have to reset it - just go to smile.amazon.com and shop 'til you drop!!
We got so excited about Halloween, the TORCH party, and the Mother-Son event that we forgot to share some great pics from the Storybook Parade!! Did you know we have some pretty amazing faculty and staff at Wards Creek?? Every year, their parade costumes are seriously the best - and when you think they can't do any better, they take it to the next level!! AMAZING!! Check out some of their great costumes this year! Feel free to share your book character in the comments, too! We can't post pics of your children, but you sure can!!
Top to bottom: Our nurse Lee is growing an Avocado Baby, Our front office staff as James and the Giant Peach, Mrs. King from James and the Giant Peach, 4th Grade Team Trolls, Library staff celebrate Elephant & Piggie style, Kindergarten is a little (and sometimes a LOT!) batty, James and the Giant Peach rounds up the parade with a confetti float!
Tickets for the Mother-Son event (Minute to Win it!) are in your child's folders today. So when they get home from school, make sure you ask them to pull them out so you can put them in a safe spot! You should receive admission tickets and tickets for any pizzas that you ordered.
If you have any questions or issues please contact Mrs. Shreves . We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night!!
PS: If you forgot to pre-order your tickets, don't forget you can purchase admission at the door for $10 each mother/son pair and $5 for each additional son. These tickets do not include pizza (No extra pizzas will be available for purchase), but you can still come play and compete to win! Hope to see you then!

Mark your calendars - we have an official date for the Ready, Set, Glow Fun Run & 5k - April 6, 2018. The glow run is an awesome event every year - lots of glow in the dark runners and walkers out to support the local World Golf Village schools. We hope that you and your family will plan to join us!
The Minute to Win It Mother-Son event is coming up this week! Friday night, Wards Creek will be filled with students and their moms vying for fame and glory (and pizza!). We still need volunteers! Can you help us make this event a success for our school? Volunteers are needed for as little as 30 minutes (set up/breakdown) or 1 hour blocks to help run one of the games. Can you stay all night? AWESOME! Can only come for 30 minutes? AWESOME! We are thankful for all of the help we can get. Adult volunteers must be registered with the school. Please call/see the front desk if you're not sure if you are an approved volunteer/visitor to the school.

Reminder: Any middle or high school student needing volunteer hours are welcome/encouraged! See any of the PTO Board and we will sign whatever documentation that you need.
This past Friday, Wards Creek Elementary held the 1st quarter TORCH party celebration. Oh my goodness did those Warriors DANCE!! It was so much fun seeing them celebrate their hard work and accomplishments and it's safe to say, they had a blast!! PTO was so glad to sponsor the event refreshments (lots of juice and cookies!) and the day would not have been a success without the help of some awesome volunteers! Too many to name (and would not want to leave anyone out!) but THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!! You are the P in the PTO and we couldn't do it without you!! And for all of you PTO members following along at home - this is a great example of what your membership dollars help to sponsor throughout the year. So thank you for joining us!! Here are a few of the smiling volunteer faces at the TORCH party....
What can YOU do in 60 seconds?! Ready to show your stuff and have a blast playing Minute to Win it?? This year's mother-son event will be packed full of fun games and event stations with each station giving you just 1 minute to count, sort, race, or problem solve. This event will have something for both mom and son to have fun and compete for fame & glory!! Take us up on the challenge, you won't regret it! Dinner will be served and then the fun will get started with games and lots of laughs - we hope that you will join us!
Event flyers will be coming home soon or you can print your own here. Tickets will be sold pre-sale and include a pizza dinner and drinks. Tickets will be sold at the door, but tickets purchased at the door will NOT include dinner and drinks, so we encourage you to purchase ahead.
The deadline for pre-sale tickets is next Friday, November 10th
We need volunteers to help us make this event a success! We'd love to see some dads out manning the stations since our moms will be too busy competing with their sons! Teens needing school volunteer hours are welcome as are any parents who would like to volunteer. We greatly appreciate all of our volunteers as we couldn't do this without you. (Reminder: all adults must be a school approved volunteer. You can check with the school front desk for more information).
